The study enrolled 90 healthy volunteers (aged 18–60) over an 84-day protocol with oral supplementation of the 5:1 Lutein-to-Zeaxanthin ratio.
At day 84, supplementation produced statistically significant improvements: +6.18% skin elasticity, +22.64% collagen intensity and a −29.20% reduction in TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss).
Mechanistically, MaQxan™ S51 reduces IL-6, COX-2 and MMP-9 markers, inhibits the AP-1 pathway and modulates TRPA1 — preserving dermal structure through potent ROS scavenging.
